Our Seasoned Political Speakers Analyze the Race for 2012
May 24, 2011
With so many presidential hopefuls testing the waters, who will emerge as the Republican Party’s top candidate? Will President Barack Obama win re-election in 2012, or will the Republicans claim victory? What policy issues will emerge as the election gets closer?
Whether looking for someone on the right, left, or in-between, we have them all. Political speakers Michael Steele, Howard Fineman, and Common Ground will educate and entertain you, while providing an insider’s view of the daily political rhetoric. Knowledgeable and witty, they are a perfect fit for any group wanting to make sense of it all.
Former chairman of the Republican National Committee, Michael Steele provides an invaluable look inside the GOP and at its current stable of potential Presidential hopefuls. As MSNBC’s newest political analyst, he shares his unique perspective on the 2012 race and delivers expertise on political strategy, fund-raising, and election reform.

Based on their popular USA Today column “Common Ground,” political speakers Bob Beckel, a liberal Democratic strategist, and Cal Thomas, a conservative columnist, take on today’s most pressing issues in their unique, entertaining style. More like a conversation between friends than debate between enemies, they inspire audiences to find common ground in their own beliefs and to put aside politics as usual.

As Editorial Director of The Huffington Post Media Group, Howard Fineman helps shape the company’s overall coverage, with a focus on the 2012 presidential race. Formerly a senior Washington correspondent and columnist for Newsweek, Fineman has reported from the nation’s capital since 1980. A true Washington insider, this popular keynote speaker examines complex political issues with a keen journalist’s eye.

NFL Superstar and Stroke Survivor Tedy Bruschi Summits Mt. Kilimanjaro
May 19, 2011
A group of adventurers, including NFL superstar and stroke survivor Tedy Bruschi, reached the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, on May 18th, completing an ascent that took an entire week.
Bruschi did the climb with former Titans coach Jeff Fisher, former Eagles tight end Chad Lewis, and four injured military service members to raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project, which honors the sacrifices made by injured US soldiers.
Mount Kilimanjaro is the world’s tallest freestanding mountain at 19,340 feet. Of their reaching the summit, Bruschi said, “We saw the most amazing sunrise that I’ve ever seen in my life. Very difficult climb, but well worth it to make it to Uhuru Peak.”
Bruschi is spokesman for the American Stroke Association, an analyst for ESPN, and the author of the book Never Give Up: My Stroke, My Recovery, and My Return to the NFL. A powerful inspirational speaker, he encourages people to persevere, no matter what obstacles they may face.

Cast of MTV’s “The Buried Life” Land Book Deal
May 13, 2011
The cast of MTV’s The Buried Life can now cross another accomplishment off of their “100 Things We Want To Do Before We Die,” list. Writing a book was number 19, and this goal will be reached some time in the spring of 2012. Artisan Books will publish the collection, which will document their adventures and include contributions from fans.
The popular show originated in 2006 when Jonnie Penn, Ben Nemtin, Duncan Penn, and Dave Lingwood set out in an old RV to complete items on their bucket list. They also help strangers along the way accomplish things they have always wanted to do.
The Buried Life premiered on MTV in January 2010 and the show keeps growing in popularity, with more than one million fans on Facebook. The cast is involved in the show’s production, and they strive to keep it authentic. They aim to keep things simple and practical, showing others that a little creativity can go a long way in reaching goals.

Civil Rights Activist Bob Zellner Relives Historic Freedom Rides
May 12, 2011
Bob Zellner, Freedom Rider and author, is available exclusively through Keppler Speakers bureau.
Prominent civil rights activist Bob Zellner appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show on May 4th, marking the 50th anniversary of the civil rights movement’s Freedom Rides. Subsequently, PBS is airing a new special on Monday, May 16th, which also documents this important part of American history. To learn more about the PBS Freedom Riders special, click here.
The Freedom Riders set out to change the status quo by taking public transportation in the southern US, challenging local laws that enforced segregation. The first Freedom Ride left Washington, D.C., on May 4, 1961, headed for New Orleans. The Freedom Rides, and the violent reactions they provoked, strengthened the American Civil Rights Movement. Riders were arrested for trespassing and violating Jim Crow laws. Most of the rides were sponsored by the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), of which Zellner was a field secretary.
Raised in southern Alabama with a father and grandfather in the Ku Klux Klan, Zellner became an unlikely civil rights activist. He was arrested 18 times in seven states, charged with crimes such as “inciting the black population to acts of war and violence.” Author of The Wrong Side of Murder Creek: A White Southerner in the Freedom Movement, Zellner speaks about the search for racial justice and the inequalities that still exist.
