Jamie Clarke to Deliver Keynote at PCMA’s Convening Leaders
December 29, 2011
One of the most gifted storytellers on the speaking circuit today, adventurer Jamie Clarke is one of the keynote speakers at the 2012 Professional Convention Management Association annual meeting in San Diego. Clarke has twice summited Mount Everest and has reached the Seven Summits—the highest peak on each continent. On January 10th, he will climb atop one of the premier stages of the meetings industry to deliver his message of passion and inspiration.
Applying the lessons he has learned while traveling across the world, Clarke offers strategies to meeting planners for tackling the challenges they face daily in their profession and a fresh perspective on business:
“Real winning has nothing to do with beating someone else, crossing the finish line first, or standing on top. Winning isn’t anything external. It is an internal satisfaction, a deep inner sense of pride and joy.”
Clarke has explored more than 40 countries, and in 1999, he became the first Westerner in 50 years to successfully cross the Arabian Desert. He is also the author of two books, Everest to Arabia and The Power of Passion, and co-produced the documentary Above All Else, which chronicled his first three Everest climbs, and aired internationally on National Geographic.
An engaging speaker and master storyteller, Clarke takes his audience on an unforgettable journey. Infusing his presentations with entertaining anecdotes and breathtaking images from his extensive travels, he inspires audiences to cast aside fears and achieve their goals.
