January 29, 2008
Bordertown, the Jennifer Lopez film based on the life and work of Barbara Martinez Jitner, is now out on DVD. Lopez plays a reporter investigating the femicide of hundreds of women in Juarez, Mexico, looking for answers to why so many murders are taking place. Jitner, an outspoken supporter of women’s rights, and her documentary, La Frontera, have been critically acclaimed for bringing attention to the plight of women in Juarez, and Bordertown depicts the devastating circumstances taking place in our own backyards.
