Political Speakers McGovern and Dole Join Forces to Fight World Hunger
Having worked together for many causes throughout their lengthy and honored careers, former Senators George McGovern and Bob Dole are models of bipartisan cooperation. Creators of the McGovern-Dole Program, which mandates that $840 million be distributed over five years to feed hungry children, they are dedicated to helping break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness in poorer countries.
In a recent Washington Post op-ed piece, McGovern and Dole write that by “providing meals to children who attend school in the poorest countries, the program increases attendance rates and student productivity and gives hope to a new generation of impoverished children around the world.”
Recently, food prices for basic staples have risen dramatically worldwide, and millions of the world’s poorest people are struggling to survive. Our country needs leadership in this time of need, and Senators McGovern and Dole provide it. Contact Keppler Speakers bureau for more information on these outstanding individuals.
