Gen Richard Myers Receives Medal of Freedom

Gen Ricahrd Myers, President Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Gen Pace General Richard Myers received the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, from George W. Bush on Wednesday, November 9, 2005.

His citation read:
General Richard B. Myers served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during one of the most challenging and dangerous periods in American history. General Myers was at the forefront of preparing America’s armed forces to meet the threats of the new century. His tenure was marked by the toppling of brutal dictatorships in Afghanistan and Iraq and the liberation of more than 50 million people.”

The 15th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Myers has become one of the most in-demand speakers on security and domestic preparedness issues since his retirement in October.


Entrepreneur Lynn Donohue to open Fairfax Chamber’s FAME Speaker Series

Lynn Donohue On Wednesday, November 16th, Lynn Donohue, the inspiring entrepreneur whose rags-to-riches story is chronicled in her best-selling memoir, Brick by Brick, will be the opening speaker for the 2005-06 FAME Speakers Series. FAME is a luncheon speaker series presented by the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce and Keppler Speakers. This event will be held at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
