Introducing Col. Eileen Collins: NASA Pioneer

May 11, 2006

Col. Eileen Collins: NASA Pioneer Keppler Speakers is proud to introduce Col. Eileen Collins, pioneering astronaut and first woman to pilot and command an American Spacecraft.

As the first woman to pilot and command an American spacecraft, astronaut Collins has led an inspiring life of adventure, leadership, and achievement. For her final mission she commanded Space Shuttle Discovery’s harrowing and historic “Return to Flight” mission in July 2005. This was NASA’s first manned flight following the February 2003 loss of the Shuttle Columbia.

Collins is now recognized as one of America’s most admired women and has become one of the most requested NASA personalities since the Apollo era. In sharing her experiences as a test pilot, astronaut, and space flight commander, Collins emphasizes that vision, teamwork, attitude, and focus are essential to every multi-billion dollar space flight—and to reaching your organization’s goals.
