Speaker Cal Ripken, Jr. to Travel to South Africa to Teach Baseball
Cal Ripken, Jr. will be taking his mission to teach baseball to children to South Africa next spring. An American public-diplomacy envoy, Ripken represents the United States and baseball to countries around the world, most recently last October, when he traveled with Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice to China. Prior to Ripken’s visit to South Africa, 11 South African youth coaches will be visiting the United States to spend two weeks at the headquarters for Ripken Baseball.
