Remembering Keppler Speaker and Friend, William F. Buckley, Jr.

February 27, 2008

Keppler Speakers mourns the passing of our longtime friend and colleague William F. Buckley, Jr. In 1983, when Keppler Speakers was merely an idea, Buckley showed great support by becoming one of the company’s first speakers.

Buckley brought the conservative movement to prominence and changed America’s political landscape forever. During his illustrious career, Buckley wrote 45 books; hosted Firing Line, one of the longest running television programs in history; and received numerous honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Buckley was one of the most popular speakers in the country, regaling audiences of the left and right with his famous vocabulary, erudite thinking, and sometimes controversial opinions.

In the coming days, there will be many remembrances of Buckley and his contributions to the political landscape. Whether conservative or liberal, we will all miss his passion for writing, speaking, and the causes in which he believed.

Congratulations to Tedy Bruschi and the entire New England Patriots organization for their incredible, history-making season. Despite losing to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl, the Patriots went an incredible 18-1. An anchor of the Patriot’s defense, Bruschi is an incredible team captain and leader.

But his leadership is only half the story. Bruschi inspires millions around the world, having suffered a stroke in 2005 and recovering, returning to the football field that same year. As demonstrated in his popular book, Never Give Up, he shows that anything is possible if you believe in yourself.
