About Dr. David Walton
A human rights speaker with an impressive resume, David Walton is a senior resident in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He is also one of two Global Health Equity residents, spending half of his time in Haiti. His work in Haiti has garnered much publicity, because he brings attention to the travails of those less fortunate, and actively provides primary healthcare, HIV prevention and treatment options, tuberculosis treatment, and treatment for any number of illnesses and diseases. In Haiti, he works directly with Dr. Paul Farmer and the group Partners In Health, whose "mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care." Helping the over 500,000 impoverished people of the region receive quality healthcare has been a lifelong passion of Dr. Walton, and is one which makes a difference and creates a better life for those in need.
