A four-star general and former chief operating officer of the US Army, General Jack Keane played a pivotal role in the war against terrorists in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq. Keane managed a global organization of more than one million soldiers, 250,000 civilian employees, and a $118 billion budget. During his four years in this job as the vice chief of staff of the US Army where he was responsible for maintaining positive relationships between the Army and Congress, the media, the American people, and policy makers.
