Jonah Goldberg's Speech Topic(s)

  • No Time for a New Deal
In the wake of the Wall Street crisis, a whole chorus of experts have claimed that now is the time for a "new New Deal." These arguments are presented as a modern response to a modern problem: the alleged failure of capitalism. The truth, however, is that this is a very old argument in America and generations of similar mainstream experts have been calling for New Deal-style control of the economy. Not only are the arguments nothing new, they're as wrong as they ever were. With detailed historical examples and political analysis, Jonah Goldberg offers a detailed rebuttal to those who've grown weary of free markets - and free minds.
  • The Media is Dead, Long Live the Media
Everything critics say about the media is true, including the statements that contradict each other. The American press is horrible and terrific, irresponsible and high-minded, and people can find evidence to support almost any complaint about it. America is moving towards a European-style media market where newspapers admit their biases more openly. And that's a good thing. Political speaker Jonah Goldberg tells audiences why.
