Support the LGBT Community with the Day of Silence
On April 25th, students on campuses all across the country commemorated the Day of Silence, symbolically representing the silencing of LGBT students and their supporters by name-calling, bullying, and harassment. Strengthen awareness of anti-LGBT discrimination and hate by hosting these powerful speakers at your next event.
Judy Shepard lost her son Matthew to a murder motivated by anti-gay hate. Ever since, she has turned her personal tragedy into a crusade for justice, founding the Matthew Shepard Foundation and advocating for the Hate Crimes Prevention Act. Also actively involved with Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), Shepard is determined to prevent violence against people considered different because of race, religion, sexuality, and gender identity.
Director of the critically-acclaimed documentary A Jihad for Love, Parvez Sharma is an Indian-born gay Muslim whose personal cultural explorations offer insight into the lives of gay Muslim facing persecution in many Islamic countries. A frequent contributor to the Huffington Post, Sharma gives a moving portrayal of the struggle for acceptance in the LGBT communities around the world.
Writer of the wildly popular syndicated sex advice column “Savage Love,” Dan Savage offers humorous and witty observations on sex, relationships, and the LGBT experience. With his trademark frankness, Savage covers everything from coming out to gay marriage and adoption, addressing the concerns of the LGBT community in relatable, entertaining ways.

Headline Your Next Event with Celebrity Speaker Michael Showalter
From the summer camp cult classic Wet Hot American Summer to the popular sketch comedy shows The State and Stella, Michael Showalter is known for his hilarious deadpan observations of everyday living. With an incredible array of projects lined up for the coming months, Showalter is sure to create campus buzz this fall. Act fast, as his September and October calendar is filling up quickly!
In exciting television news, Showalter will star in an upcoming Comedy Central reunion of The State, as well as a new project with Michael Ian Black, Michael & Michael Have Issues. Showalter also recently signed a book deal with Grand Central Publishing, the powerhouse behind the recent best-sellers by Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris, and the Daily Show.
This spring and summer, Showalter will be busy performing at premiere comedy and music festivals around the country. First, he is headlining the comedy tent at the Sasquatch Music Fest at The Gorge in Washington State from May 24-26, and then moves onto Bumbershoot, Seattle’s Music & Arts Festival from August 30-September 1.
