Garth Miller
Garth has built his career leading in environments where mistakes are not an option and the stakes could not be higher. A former Special Forces officer, two-time Everest summiteer, and current airline Captain, he brings a rare combination of military leadership, safety-critical decision-making, and extreme performance experience to global audiences.
Across a career that spans commanding elite military units on operations, managing safety for the world’s largest Boeing 747 fleet, and leading expeditions in the planet’s most hostile environments—from Everest and K2 to remote 8,000-meter peaks—Garth has learned what it truly takes to lead under pressure. His work reveals how trust is built, how decisions are made with incomplete information, and how teams perform when conditions are volatile, uncertain, and unforgiving.
A graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst with a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge, Garth blends military precision, commercial insight, and academic rigor. His keynotes take audiences inside moments few ever experience—an in-flight emergency, command decisions at the sharp end of operations, and life in Everest’s “death zone”—and translate those moments into practical, actionable lessons for leaders and teams.
Today, Garth works with organizations around the world to build resilient, accountable, and agile cultures—helping leaders operate with calm, clarity, and confidence when it matters most.
