Helen Zia
Diversity speaker Helen Zia is an award-winning journalist and a contributing editor to Ms. magazine, where she was formerly executive editor. Her articles, essays, and reviews have appeared in many newspapers and magazines. She has contributed essays to several anthologies, and was executive editor of the book, "Notable Asian-Americans". She is also the author of "Asian-American Dreams: The Emergence of an American People", a finalist for the prestigious Kiriyama Pacific Rim Book Prize.
A second-generation Chinese American, Zia has been an activist for more than two decades on social justice issues, and has long been active in the Asian-American civil rights movement. Her background and career experiences have made her a premiere human rights speaker.
