Jason Altmire wrote the book—literally—on breaking through polarization in Washington, D.C. A centrist widely respected on both sides of the aisle, he offers a balanced perspective on the upcoming 2022 Midterm Elections.

During his three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, Jason Altmire won praise as a centrist known for working with both sides of the aisle. The nonpartisan National Journal calculated his voting record to be at the exact midpoint of the House—the “dead center.” His extraordinary record of legislative success and his reputation for bipartisan collaboration have made him a popular guest on multiple national news programs and a trusted guide for the rest of us ahead of the upcoming 2022 Midterm Elections.

As author of the critically acclaimed book Dead Center: How Political Polarization Divided America and What We Can Do About It, Altmire considers the nation’s growing polarization and offers pragmatic solutions for organizations to prosper in the current political environment. As a former senior executive for both the hospital and health insurance industries Altmire is also a nationally recognized expert on healthcare and public health policy who appears frequently in the media for his insights on the nation’s coronavirus response.

Currently, Dr. Altmire is the President and CEO of Career Education Colleges and Universities, the country’s biggest trade association representing for-profit schools. Among his many achievements: seeing 29 of his legislative initiatives signed into law and introducing a bipartisan bill that gained more co-sponsors than any Congressional bill in American history. He is also an adjunct professor of healthcare management at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He co-chairs the advisory board of the Center for Effective Lawmaking at the University of Virginia and serves on advisory boards for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, the Amerisource Bergen Foundation, Unite America and the Washington Political Film Foundation.
