Sophie Grégoire Trudeau
With her authentic style and trademark joie de vivre, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau is an inspiring advocate for emotional literacy, equality and mental health—sharing anecdotes from her own personal journey.
As the former unofficial First Lady of Canada, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau has been not only an illustrious role model on the public stage, but she has worked tirelessly to advocate for mental health, female empowerment, emotional literacy, gender equality and conscious leadership.
Combining insight from top psychologists, psychiatrists, scientists, and thought leaders with her own personal journey, Sophie helps groups and individuals explore new ways to enhance emotional literacy and gain a better understanding of their mental health. Her mission is to help people reach their true potential and live fuller, happier lives by forming healthier relationships with themselves, others, and the world around them.
In her years as an acclaimed TV and radio journalist, Sophie met and interviewed countless luminaries from Malala Yousafzai to Gloria Steinem, Brad Pitt to Amal Clooney. She made memorable encounters with dignitaries from all over the world like Queen Elizabeth II and Pope Francis and offered opening remarks during Michelle and Barack Obama’s visits to Canada. Sophie has received UN recognition awards for her humanitarian work, and she was named the first National Volunteer for the Canadian Mental Health Association in 2022, among other awards and accolades.
Her book, Closer Together: Knowing Ourselves, Loving Each Other (Penguin Random House Canada, April 2024) was praised by Hillary Rodham Clinton as “candid, enlightening, and an intrepid exploration into achieving a life filled with purpose, meaning, and a sense of wonder.”
